Paleokastritsa Tour and Fish Night Out

When: 10 October, 2016

Info

Leaving the hotel we head west, driving through the impressive olive groves and the very typical Corfiot countryside, renowned to be one of the most picturesque places in Europe - the highlight of which is the still-functioning Byzantine Monastery. Walking through the gate into another world, you will be shown around the fascinating grounds by your guide, learning of the activities of the monks and feeling the tranquillity of monastic life.

Our tour continues towards Lakones, a typical Corfiot village on the slope of a green hill. The surnames of the inhabitants of the region refer to the soldiers who supported Angelokastro in the late Byzantine period, as well as to refugees from Mani. Houses and churches date from the 18th and 19th centuries. At the central church you will see donations of the first emigrants to America from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We will end up at the beautiful beach of Paleokastritsa where participants will have the chance to swim and where we will enjoy a fish meze accompanied with local drinks and wine at a local fish restaurant.

Price: €50
